MED-EMIP held its experts group and steering committee meetings on 4-5 May, 2009 in Brussels, Belgium -  [12/05/2009]
Med-EMIP organized the first Experts’ Group / Steering Committee meeting in Brussels on 4-5 May, 2009. Important energy related issues were discussed that are of common interest between EU and MPCs.

The Experts’ group attached to the Euro-Med Energy forum, recommended during its last meeting that a strong Steering Committee should be formed for MED-EMIP, as a subgroup of the Experts’ group itself. Thus MED-EMIP steering Committee would be composed of high-level representatives from the MEDA programme countries, including the EU Neighborhood and Turkey.

MED-EMIP is working in cooperation with the Regional Center for renewable Energy and Energy efficiency (RCREEE) and has been mandated by the European Commission to ensure the overall coordination of the ongoing study on strategy towards a Mediterranean Solar Plan. Moreover, the Commission as well as a number of MPCs requested the update of the MEDRING study.
